Giant Black Seabass — Yellowtail biting!

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Fished yesterday and had an angler catch a huge Black Seabass. Fish was approx. 75 pounds. We originally thought it was a nice Yellowtail. The fish was kept in the water, hook removed and it swam away quickly and very healthy. There is great Yellowtail fishing at the Cornados right now. It’s time to fish!

6-12-2010 Calico Bass are biting!

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Fished a 3/4 day local trip Saturday and had excellent bass fishing. Fish were biting, sardines, chovie and the surface iron the entire day. The area was very fishy and we might go exploring up there this week in search of bigger fish. I’ll post what we find. Weather saturday was less than ideal, wind from the south all day and not much sun. But it’s June, we are in San Diego and life is good!!!

Albacore and Bluefin on the way!!!! June 7th, 2010

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Still out of our range, or ever overnight fishing range, boats heading south on 2 day+ trips have been seeing some epic tuna fishing the last week. A few boats had limits and were catch and releasing another round of limits of fish. The Albacore were in the 20-30 range, and the Bluefin are slightly larger. Date wise, we could see the schools within our range in a few weeks. I’ll be posting the latest as I know it.
