The "El Gato Dos" is San Diego's answer to cutting edge saltwater sportfishing. By combining one of most experienced fishing crews in San Diego with one of the most well equipped charter boats in the fleet, the El Gato Dos provides the premier San Diego Fishing experience. We offer a wide variety of fishing trips year round.
During the summer months the "El Gato Dos" searches for migratory exotic game fish such as Dorado and Yellowtail and Yellowfin, Bluefin, and Albacore Tuna. If it's bigger fish you are after we target big gamefish such as the elusive Marlin off the Coronado Islands and northern Baja Mexico. The winter months are spent pursuing coastal reef dwellers and targeting the plethora of species in the local Point Loma and La Jolla Kelp Beds off the coast here in San Diego. We also offer private whale watching trips.
If a tangle with a monster shark is your interest, we do that as well. San Diego is home to a variety of sharks, but the most popular El Gato Dos shark fishing trips target Blue, Mako and the very interesting and explosive Thresher Sharks.

The El Gato Dos is a 1984 36' Hatteras Express. She was re powered in 2002 with twin John Deere Diesel engines that bring her to a 14 knot cruise and 18 knot top speed. In 2009 she received a new 7 kilowatt generator and anchor winch. We can load up to 5 scoops of live bait in the bait tank which is located centrally in the cockpit. There is storage for 12 rods on the tank and more space for backup tackle in rocket launches. The El Gato has a full Tuna Tower which aids in helping us locate kelp paddies, and schools of fish, such as Yellowtail and tuna, while fishing offshore. We also use a military grade pair of Fujinon Gyro-scopic binoculars to spot bird life & fish.
Seating wise there is freshly reupholstered bench seats on both sides of the upper deck, allowing passengers to rest out of the sun between fish stops. Inside the cabin there is a stainless steel refrigerator/ freezer as well as a microwave and toaster oven. A dinette table makes the perfect space for a nap on the way offshore. A full size head/bathroom lies on the port side of the boat.
With a fuel capacity of over 300 gallons, we are only limited by the amount of time in a day.
